Chocolate and Caffeine
February 26, 2008 — gpatter879My News-Press article of February 19 dealt with the anti-oxidants in dark chocolate. Some readers have contacted me because I did not mention the caffeine in chocolate. The article was not intended to address caffein but I thought it would be good to talk about it. Yes, there is a small amount of caffeine in chocolate, from 1-10 mg per ounce, depending on the type. Compared with coffee and soft drinks which have 55 mg and up this is minmal, but for someone who is hypersensitve to caffeine it deserves consideration.
